Webinar: CMIS vs. ArchiveLink – Which Archiving Interface Matters in 2026?

(PresseBox) (Neu-Isenburg, )
The next kgs webinar, taking place on Thursday, February 12 at 11:00 a.m., will explore which SAP interface standard is likely to prevail in the future.

The fact is that the classic ArchiveLink architecture is increasingly reaching its limits in the context of S/4HANA, RISE, the SAP Public Cloud, and growing requirements for performance, compliance, and integration. Increasingly often, the discussion turns to the fundamental question of to what extent CMIS, as an open interface standard, is gaining importance – and how ArchiveLink and CMIS scenarios can be sensibly positioned, with architecturally clean transitions between them.

In the webinar “CMIS vs. ArchiveLink – Which Interface Is Truly Future-Proof in 2026,” Benny Schröder, CTO, and Katharina Gerber, Senior Marketing Communications Manager at KGS Software GmbH, will explain when ArchiveLink still makes sense, where CMIS offers clear advantages, and which architectural decisions will make SAP landscapes future-ready. The session will also cover SAP’s current CMIS strategy as well as the new kgs feature “Item,” which simplifies CMIS usage and enables new scenarios. The webinar is aimed at SAP owners, IT architects, IT managers, and anyone who needs to decide which archiving interface to rely on going forward.
