Quality control in the production processs
Industrial plastics production demands high standards of tightness, functionality, and product safety - whether for single-use medical devices, connectors, cooling systems, or packaging. Defective components can result in downtime, complaints, or safety-critical consequences. That is why the integration of routine testing as a 100% end-of-line testing into the production process has long been standard practice for many manufacturers.
Typical applications
Examples of plastic products that are successfully tested with CETA test devices:
• Injection-molded housings and hollow bodies such as bottles, canisters, plastic drums, IBCs with a volume of up to 1,000 liters - tightness against leakage of media
• Closures and caps - tightness
• Disposable medical products, tubes, and catheters - tightness and flow
• Connecting elements and plug connectors - tightness
• Cooling channels and fluid channels in plastic components - flow and tightness against leakage
• Membranes, filter inserts, and porous components (flow)
The variety of products ranges from small-volume precision parts to large-volume hollow bodies and requires the use of different measuring methods and device variants.
Comprehensive portfolio of testing devices
A comprehensive range of testing devices allows the right solution to be found for almost any testing task. Compressed air is widely used as a testing medium. Depending on the application, CETA leak testers with gauge pressure sensors or differential pressure sensors are used. The tightness of large-volume test parts with small leakage rates can be tested with leak testers equipped with a calorimetric mass flow sensor. The CETATEST 725 LV leak tester was developed specifically for leak testing large-volume products such as plastic drums and IBCs. The range of product volumes to be tested extends from 0.1 ml to 1,000 l.
Products whose flow is tested include membranes, filters, and pipes. With CETA flow testers, a range from 3 ml/min to 200 l/min can be covered using different laminar flow elements. The test devices are available with standard industrial interfaces. These enable the transfer of measurement results as well as the control and parameterisation of the test devices.
CETA test devices and calibration standards are delivered as standard and at no extra charge with an internationally recognised calibration certificate in accordance with DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025. Test devices are guaranteed for 3 years (optionally extendable to 5 years).
As a solution partner, CETA Testsysteme GmbH supports customers in all phases of the practical implementation of their testing projects: from product development, ensuring technical feasibility, and selecting the appropriate testing technology to series production and subsequent process optimisations.
About CETA Testsysteme GmbH
CETA Testsysteme develops and manufactures industrial leak and flow testing devices “Made in Germany” for more than 35 years. The devices are integrated into production lines for 100% routine testing of components. They are used in industries such as automotive, medical technology, packaging, and electronics. Several thousand CETA test devices are in use worldwide in production lines for quality control.
CETA exhibits at the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany
At K 2025, the world's largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, CETA will be demonstrating live solutions for typical testing tasks in the plastics industry. CETA experts will show practical examples, explain measurement principles, and advise on feasibility studies, integration into manufacturing lines, calibration, and service. Interested trade visitors can find out about solutions for industrial leak and flow testing of plastic products on site. They are invited to bring specific testing tasks and discuss them with the CETA experts on site.
