About CETA Testsysteme GmbH
CETA Testsysteme GmbH has been developing and manufacturing industrial leak and flow testing devices “Made in Germany” for more than 35 years. The devices are integrated into production lines for 100% routine testing of components. They are used in industries such as automotive, medical technology, packaging, and electronics. Several thousand CETA test devices are in use worldwide in production lines for quality control.
Reliable leak testing with compressed air
The CETATEST LV leak tester uses compressed air as the test medium and is suitable for directly fillable products. The test device is available in two electronically controlled pressure variants (-800 mbar and +200 mbar). This covers the common test pressure ranges for leak testing plastic packaging of various sizes: These include bottles (up to 1 l), canisters (up to 30 l), plastic drums (up to several 100 liters), and IBCs (up to > 1,000 l).
The tester has a gauge pressure sensor and a very large measuring range of ±5,000 Pa.
The real-time system, in combination with a high-resolution 24-bit A/D converter, enables fast and precise measurement data acquisition.
The compact 3U test device is operated via a 7-inch color touchscreen and separate start/stop buttons.
The CETATEST LV impresses with its extensive standard features:
These include a digital I/O interface, RS-232, USB (host), Ethernet, and Profinet.
The integrated electrically controlled valve can be used, for example, to switch externally actuated valves. This allows a stamping device to be controlled, a measuring station to be switched over, or a calibration standard to be connected to the test process (to simulate borderline test parts).
A special feature of the vacuum version is the generation of negative overpressure by the integrated Venturi nozzle. This means that no external vacuum pump is required.
The turbo filling function significantly shortens the filling process, especially for large-volume products.
The device has a memory for 100,000 measurement results and 64 individually parameterizable test programs with alphanumeric program names. The main valve system of the CETATEST LV is FDA compliant. An UL-certified power supply is available as an option. This makes the test device suitable for integration into automated production lines.
Measurement documentation and traceability
Test programs can be exported and imported via device interfaces or a USB storage medium. In particular, various test programs can be transferred via the bidirectional industrial interfaces, which greatly simplifies the management of test recipes. The transfer of relevant test process data to the higher-level control system ensures that traceability requirements are met.
The free CETA Soft 2G application software enables measurement series management and a wide range of graphical representations (measurement curves, histograms) for detailed analysis of the test results.
Areas of application
In the overpressure variant (200 mbar pressure range), the standard integrated turbo filling function and dynamic filling phase prove particularly advantageous for large-volume products. Once the test pressure has been reached, the stabilization and measurement phases begin automatically. The test pressure is monitored via a separate test pressure input. This ensures that the test pressure has been reliably reached inside the product. Typical test pressures range between 30 mbar and 200 mbar. With the overpressure version of the CETATEST LV, an IBC with a volume of approx. 1,000 liters can be tested for leaks in just 30 s to 60 s. Hole sizes down to 0.8 mm resp. down to 0.55 mm are reliably detected. This enables 100% routine testing of newly manufactured IBCs in the production process and used IBCs during reconditioning. Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) intended for the transport of dangerous goods are subject to the dangerous goods regulation BAM-GGR 002 of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing and must undergo initial and periodic leak tests in accordance with the IMDG Code and RID/ADR (Chapters 6.5.4.4.1 and 6.5.4.4.2)—a task for which the CETATEST LV is suitable.
In the vacuum version, the test device is suitable for leak testing outlet valves and outlet taps, which have important functions as operating elements in IBCs. The tightness of the operating element mounted on the IBC is tested to ensure that it closes tightly against the medium. This is an important test, especially when reconditioning IBCs. The test pressures here are in the range between -300 mbar and -500 mbar. This test is often carried out in parallel with the leak test of the IBC during the reconditioning process.
Accredited calibration certificate | Warranty | Compatibility | Availability
All CETA test devices including the CETATEST LV, as well as calibration standards, are delivered with an internationally recognized DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 as standard and at no extra charge.
CETA Testsysteme GmbH provides a standard 3-year warranty on test devices when annual maintenance is performed, with an optional extension to 5 years.
In addition, the CETATEST LV is fully interface-compatible with the predecessor series CETATEST 715 LV and CETATEST 725 LV. This is an important detail when it comes to replacing test equipment, procuring spare equipment, and expanding, replicating, and duplicating production lines.
The CETATEST LV is available from the end of the first quarter of 2026.
