Die MLAR ist eine, für den baulichen Brandschutz, herausgegebene Richtlinie. Ziel ist die Richtlinienkonforme Umsetzung der Ausführungsplanung. Die (M) LAR wurde in das jeweilige Landesrecht übernommen daher ist die Richtlinie bei bauordnungsrechtlich geforderten Anlagen verbindlich. In einigen Bundesländern wurde das Muster angepasst.
