Der bisher hellste LED aus der Dragon-Serie von OSRAM Opto Semiconductors strahlt in weiß mit 75 lm bei 700 mA Betriebsstrom (30 lm/W). Die Platinum Dragon ist damit die lichtstärkste Ein-Chip-Hochleistungs-LED. Das Gehäuse entspricht im Aufbau und in den Abmessungen dem der Golden Dragon, verträgt jedoch die doppelte Leistung und damit einen höheren Betriebsstrom. So lässt sich auf gleicher Fläche eine größere Helligkeit erzielen.

Der leistungsfähige Dünnfilmchip, eine bessere thermische Anbindung der Chips an das Gehäuse sowie eine optimierte Wärmeableitung des SMT-Gehäuses selbst machen den Leistungszuwachs der Platinum Dragon gegenüber der Golden Dragon aus.
