Han-Yellock® relaunch with reduced insertion forces

(PresseBox) (Espelkamp, )
HARTING has redesigned the Han-Yellock®: as a result, the versatile connector is now even easier to use. Locking forces have been significantly reduced.

The Han-Yellock® retains its traditional design, which combines black and melon yellow colours with attractive, rounded contours and zinc die-cast components. Changes have been made to the handling: gentle pressure on the buttons is all that is needed to release the connector. Narrow, circumferential double-lipped seals on the bulkhead-mounted housing and the carrier hood ensure lower locking forces.

“The Han-Yellock® is primarily used in exposed areas where good design and minimal installation height are required, such as in robotics,” reports Product Manager Tarek Spreen from HARTING Electric. Depending on the application, the Han-Yellock® also offers opportunities for miniaturisation. The power density is particularly high in the Han-Yellock® monoblocks. In the Han-Yellock® 60, 48 Yellock specific power contacts (16 A) can be fitted within an area comparable to the dimensions of a Han® 16B hood/housing. Using 25 contacts (16 A), the Han-Yellock® 30 monoblock exceeds the power density of Han® EE inserts in Han® 6B standard hoods/housings

Han-Yellock® is a connector that combines a range of innovative solutions within an aesthetically pleasing overall design:
  • An audible ‘click’ indicates that the locking process is complete.
  • The cable side is divided into two parts, enabling front and rear mounting. The interfaces must not be separated for a visual inspection of the connection side.
  • Han-Yellock® multipliers allow contacts and potentials to be doubled.
  • Adapter frames allow for an easy integration of Han-Modular®
  • 25 different coding options ensure that each connector is mounted in the correct position.
  • Shorter assembly times thanks to the snap-in option for Han-Modular® modules and Han-Yellock®
