Mit SilverFast von LaserSoft Imaging AG können die Nutzer eines Nikon Filmscanners ihr Gerät auch zukünfig weiter unter Leopard, dem aktuellem Macintosh Betriebssystem 10.5, einsetzen

SilverFast 6.6 ist für die relevanten Nikon Film Scanner und aktuellen Intel Macs Leopard kompatibel. Neben den 35mm Filmscannern, Coolscan IV und V ED, Super Coolscan 2000, 4000 ED und 5000 ED werden jetzt auch auch die Modelle LS-8000 und LS-9000, für das Digitalisieren von Mittelformataufnahmen, unterstützt.

Nikon selbst hatte angekündigt, dass die eigene NikonScan software nicht mehr für Mac OS 10.5 unterstützt werden wird.

Staub- und Kratzerentfernung leistet SilverFast mit SilverFast iSRD. Dazu nutzt SilverFast iSRD zur Fehlerdetektion den Infrarotkanal der Hardware. Ein großer Vorteil von SilverFast iSRD ist, dass bei SilverFast keine verfälschende Bildglättung stattfindet. Im Gegensatz
