JOOPS Informationstechnik GmbH bietet für JAVA-Softwareentwickler die JAVA-COM Middleware JAXI an. Mit Hilfe von JAXI können JAVA-Klassen sowohl COM-Server als auch COM-Client sein. Unterstützt werden JAVA-Beans und Enterprise-JAVA-Beans. JAXI ist kompatibel zu JDK 1.1.x, JDK 1.2.x und höher. Die erforderlichen JAVA-Klassen des JAXI-Package umfassen nur ca. 10 KB. COM-Clients können die vollständige Polymorphie der Vererbungshierarchie innerhalb der Java-COM-Server-Klassen nutzen. Eine Java-COM-Server-Klas-senhierarchie stellt den COM-Clients seine Event-Schnittstellen polymorph zur Verfügung. Java-COM-Server können auch Connection Point Contai-ner implementieren. JAXI verwendet die COM-Typenbibliothek als Informationsbasis. Da-durch ist die vollständige Unter-stützung der IntelliSense Funktionalität von z.B. Microsoft Visual Basic gegeben.
