MXD2map - ein freier Konverter für ESRI MXD-Dateien!

MXD2map ist ein Konverter zur Erzeugung von UMN MapServer-kompatiblen Map-Dateien aus ESRI ArcGIS MXD-Dateien. Dadurch besteht die Möglichkeit, die Kartengestaltung wie gewohnt im Desktop GIS ArcGIS vorzunehmen und 'auf Knopfdruck' eine Konfigurationsdatei für den UMN MapServer zu erzeugen. Dadurch kann direkt ein WMS- oder WFS-Service erzeugt werden.

Das Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) in Hamburg hat die Entwicklung in Auftrag gegeben und eine Realisierung ermöglicht. MXD2map ist Freie Software. Es wurde unter der GNU Lesser General Public Licence (GNU LGPL) veröffentlicht.

Ein Windows-Installer sowie der Quellcode stehen auf der Webseite zum Download zur Verfügung.
