VITRONIC extends presence in Qatar

26 PoliScan systems contribute to more traffic safety

(PresseBox) (Wiesbaden / Doha, )
VITRONIC Machine Vision Middle East LLC and their Qatar partner ITQAN Holding have recently received an order for 26 PoliScan systems. 16 systems will be employed for speed enforcement, ten will be operating as combined solutions for speed and red light enforcement. It already is the second order for VITRONIC in the State of Qatar.

The Doha airport’s operating company Qatar Civil Aviation Authority is VITRONIC’s end customer in Qatar. Thus, the new systems will be used primarily for enforcement on the Airport Road which was not built until 2011.

The PoliScan systems’ implementation is meant to ensure traffic safety on this important access road. In the long run the numbers of road accidents are supposed to be reduced significantly. For this the PoliScan systems are the airport authority’s first choice tool, as they are perfectly suited to their needs. As a result of their trust in the reliability and performance of VITRONIC’s PoliScan systems, Qatar once again has chosen to implement the latest technology for traffic enforcement systems available on the market.

PoliScan systems operate on a LIDAR based measurement principle. A scanning laser captures the speeds and position of each vehicle in the tracking zone. This way, violations can be detected on multiple lanes, even if drivers tailgate or change lanes. Other than radar, laser based measurement operates in road work areas or curves without any difficulty.
