With a combination of modern, cutting-edge technology, thought-out systems, a wide range of services and a realistic presentation of ‚Solutions for sustainable construction, TRACTO impressed the international expert audience at bauma 2025 and confirmed its role as a pioneer in trenchless technology. The solution provider's comprehensive range of services to support customers in all project phases also contributed to this success. Particularly popular were TRACTO's flexible financing solutions and the practical demonstrations of NODIG technology by the service application team for users on site after the trade fair. Visitors also responded very positively to the open stand design with individual solution areas for main grid, distribution networks, house connections and pipe renewal, as well as to the Tracto team's passionate commitment to "moling technology" and their warm welcome.
Construction companies increasingly invest in future technology
The extent to which trenchless system solutions contribute to making pipeline construction more efficient and sustainable was demonstrated not only by the large influx of trade visitors from over 55 countries, but also by the high number of orders received in all areas. These orders were evenly distributed across national and international markets, including several from new customers. The premium quality of the NODIG systems with the Mole logo, the high level of practical support and the reliable service were also decisive factors. This is proven by the large number of first-time maintenance contracts and warranty extensions, which help to maintain the value of the machines and secure the user's investment in the long term.
The GRUNDOMAT soil displacement hammers, which can be used to quickly and accurately install all types of house connections without digging trenches, continued to be in great demand. There was also strong interest in the GRUNDOSTEER guided rod pushers and the GRUNDOPIT mini rigs for complex house connection routes. GRUNDODRILL drilling rigs, used in the construction of main grids and distribution networks, attracted many visitors and were the top-selling product group. Especially the highly automated new generation, which features numerous assistance functions and a particularly high level of operating comfort, impressed not only experts in HDD technology.
There was also unexpectedly high demand for GRUNDOBURST systems for trenchless pipe renewal. Although bursting technology has been tried and tested for a long time, it has only recently become widely recognised as the most sustainable solution for pipe rehabilitation. This appears to be due to the realisation in the utilities industry that long-term repairs are inevitable as existing pipe networks age and become increasingly damaged. Here, TRACTO was also able to impress with its system solution for pipe renewal, which includes a comprehensive range of accessories and expert technical advice.
New HDD drilling rigs for main grids and distribution networks
Two new HDD drilling rigs from TRACTO made their debut at bauma 2025. The new GRUNDODRILL JCS300 was particularly impressive. This 300 kN HDD drilling rig is part of the new generation of highly automated GRUNDODRILL rigs and is the most powerful jet drilling machine in its class. It has been specially equipped with 4.5 metre long drill rods, 70 of which are stored in the magazine for long bores, as required in mon grid construction. Visitors took full advantage of the opportunity to look inside this high-tech rig and the first sales were made on the stand. The second new HDD rig on display was the GRUNDODRILL 20ACS, the successor to the proven GRUNDODRILL 18ACS. This 200 kN 'All Condition System' is perfectly suited for rock drilling and complex drilling projects, with special twin-tube rods and various support systems. The 'Rockstar' also found buyers directly at the show.
Sustainable electric drives and innovative support systems
TRACTO also presented its lowest-emission HDD drilling rig, the GRUNDODRILL JCS130E - ELECTRIC as a series model following extensive customer testing on real construction sites. The JCS130E combines 130 kN of thrust pulling force with a powerful electric drive, further reducing the CO₂ footprint of HDD drilling. It was presented alongside two other pioneering solutions for controlled drilling technology. The ORFEUS drill head radar will enable unknown obstacles to be detected during drilling in future, making HDD processes even safer. TRACTO has also developed innovative drill rods with internal data cables that can transmit the high volume of data required for the drill head radar. Collecting large amounts of data also paves the way for developing new assistance systems and digital tools to automate the entire process.
Bauma as industry meeting place and ideal platform
“BAUMA is and will remain the best platform for us to demonstrate the efficiency of our NODIG solutions to the construction industry," says Florian Gies, Managing Director of Sales at TRACTO. "That is why we invest a lot of time and energy in optimising the presentation of our range of products and services and time our product launches to coincide with this event." The fact that the order intake for 2025 exceeded our expectations and that visitors responded so positively to the new stand design is a great endorsement for all of us. We also achieved our goal of bringing customers and contractors together on our stand. The industry's appreciation and the fact that our customers' order books are full give us great confidence for the future,' says Florian Gies, echoing the sentiments of the entire TRACTO team. In addition, every BAUMA is an important step in raising awareness of sustainable trenchless technology worldwide. We are already looking forward to 2028.’
