Electric air cabs are becoming a reality - thanks to lithium

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
Production of air cabs has begun in Munich. Lufthansa is also involved in the start-up.

The start of production is a turning point, as the aircraft designed by a Munich-based start-up is now in the industrialization phase. The first seven air cabs produced are to be used for tests in order to obtain a type certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency. Lufthansa now appears to be getting involved in the vertical take-off e-air cabs and has entered into a strategic partnership. This is causing a stir. The Munich-based company also wants to build e-regional aircraft with space for 50 or even 100 passengers. Sustainable and even regional aviation is therefore getting closer. In any case, work is being carried out at full speed on an area of more than 16,000 square meters. Voices from the USA, China, Brazil, Great Britain and Saudi Arabia are said to have already expressed interest in the air cabs.

E-flying cabs are not only being worked on in Germany, but also in China, for example. According to a Chinese company, it has more than 1,200 pre-orders for its flying cab. Approval for a test operation is said to have been granted. In any case, commercial air taxi operations are probably only a matter of time. Not only light metals are used in the air cabs. One of the main points are the batteries. This is where raw materials such as lithium come into play, because without lithium there can be no lithium-ion batteries. These are not only used in electric cars, but also in many portable devices. And they are also an important component of renewable energies, because electricity storage is important. Only in this way can vertical mobility succeed and step out of the realm of utopia and become reality. Companies such as Gama Explorations and Green Shift Commodities have the necessary raw materials in their mining projects.

Gama Explorations - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/gama-explorations-inc/ - has projects in Quebec and the Northwest Territories. They contain lithium as well as nickel and copper.

Green Shift Commodities - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/green-shift-commodities-ltd/ - explores and develops lithium projects. In Argentina, the Rio Negro lithium project was recently acquired. Green Shift Commodities also owns the Armstrong lithium project in Northern Ontario.
