The N-470 has a high motion resolution of typically 20 nm and can, in consequence, align optical components with utmost precision.
Simply Stable
The PiezoMike linear actuator keeps a position with long-term stability and is vibration-proof and shock-resistant. It provides a holding force of >100 N and a feed force of 22 N. Even after long downtimes, it assures reliable start-up, being the ideal choice for "set-and-forget" applications.
The N-470 achieves its high holding force and resolution by combining a piezomotor with mechanical thread translation. When at rest, the drive is self-locking and requires no current.
The piezo-based drives are very compact, the N-470 being currently the smallest linear actuator of its performance range.
Simple to Operate
The E-870 drive electronics from PI is especially tuned to the requirements of PiezoMike linear actuators. One amplifier can serially control a unit with up to four channels, this keeps investments costs low as a positive side-effect.
