Worldwide mobile live encoding rebellion has started

IBC 2011 to be kick-off for the international miniCASTER® movement

(PresseBox) (Unterföhring, )
After the sneak preview given at IBC 2010 the miniCASTER® team is about to hit Europe’s Nr. 1 Show for content production and distribution with a broad variety of mobile live-encoding and mobile broadcasting solutions since the first units have been successfully shipped.

While passing several milestones on the miniCASTER® live-encoding and mobile streaming roadmap, customers can now choose between the S-Video ingest model for analog cameras and the HD/SDI ingest model for their digital broadcast set-up. Both devices enable its user to stream one SD and one HD stream in parallel and also record one stream as back up on an on-board SD-card. An HDMI model is expected in October 2011. Total mobility is guaranteed through a built-in lithium battery that powers the device when it’s operated without being plugged.

miniCASTER® delivers live content via landline, WiFi, satellite or 3G/4G/LTE network to a Wowza infrastructure and is able to address platforms like Livestream.com, ustream.com or justin.tv and also Content Delivery Networks like TV1.EU, Akamai or Limelight. Every device can be managed through an on-board menu/display or via local interface and very unique: a web based repository service. Therefore production units do not have to have any streaming know-how and can be backed-up remotely by technical experts at their headquarter if needed.

miniCASTER® CEO, Michael Westphal: “miniCASTER® is a one of a kind device that revolutionizes the encoding and broadcasting industry. It enables any camera operator to stream live to platforms like youtube, livestream.com, ustream.com or in the very near future facebook and reach millions of viewers. It was never this easy and affordable to broadcast live from almost everywhere to almost any website by the push of a single button.”

miniCASTER® c/o TV1 GmbH

miniCASTER® is a truly mobile hardware based H.264 live encoder that converts any camera or video source signal into an ip based livestream and delivers it via landline, WiFi, satellite or cellular networks to the leading Content Delivery Networks and video platforms. miniCASTER® generates one HD and one SD Stream in parallel and is able to record at the same time. The mobile live encoder in pocket size comes in three different versions and can also be used with a second device that works as decoder in order to set-up a one-to-one connection for live broadcasting using public internet.
