miniCASTER® with new cost-saving live production tools at IBC 2013

Bridge the gap between professional yet affordable mobile live-encoding and mobile broadcasting solutions: this has been the leading agenda for miniCASTER® since its first launch in 2010. At this years IBC, miniCASTER® will prove from the 13th - 17th of September at Europe's Nr. 1 address in the industry, that it takes its goal to new heights. In order to do so properly, miniCASTER® will be present on two locations: inside on stand 1.A80 (Hall1) and outside on stand OE110.

Visitors of miniCASTER® will experience a well-functioning end-to-end solution package - which contains what it takes to deliver high-quality results: ultra-mobile encoders, reliable low-cost NewsSpotter satellite solutions and intelligent receiver/decoder with cost-saving relay-options and modular upgrade-possibilities via software. This way, content-producers are able to save up to 90% of traditional invests - making miniCASTER® a really smart alternative to traditional SNG broadcast solutions. In order to bring miniCASTER® customers up to speed, miniCASTER® is offering its own "Academy", where customers get a solid mixture of written and hands-on experience.

To show, that miniCASTER® lives up to its promises - visitors can hit it hard: a boxing automat on the inside stand 1.A80 (Hall1) is waiting for body contact - and prove on the spot, that you can realize very low latency < 1,2 seconds with miniCASTER® and KA-SAT NewsSpotter satellite services from Eutelsat. On the outside stand, Sales Director Martin Weber will present full LIVE demos of streaming, satellite up- and download and explain all relevant topics around miniCASTER® solutions and products.

miniCASTER® - Going LIVE the smarter way

miniCASTER® c/o TV1 GmbH

Developed from one of Europe's leading online video platforms TV1.EU, miniCASTER® is a pocket-size hardware based H.264 HD camera-top live encoder that converts any camera or video source signal into an IP based live stream and delivers it via landline, dualband WiFi, satellite or 3G/4G networks to the leading Content Delivery Networks and video platforms. miniCASTER® generates one HD and one SD Stream in parallel and is able to record on SD-Card in the device itself at the same time. Through a built-in lithium battery it is possible to work stand-alone, comes in two different versions and can be operated in real-time via a web-based remote management portal.

The miniCASTER® receiver/decoder is a very powerful all-in-one broadcast-webcast-recording solution: all hardware and software expansions are built in already such as 2x SDI-out, relay, transcoding, failover, live transcoding and access control "activated" via the internet. The relay function ensures that the signal can be distributed to more than one station at the same time.

Together with satellite solution partner Eutelsat, miniCASTER® provides different satellite uplink solutions like its fly-away and car unit using NewsSpotter KA-Band and high performance modems. This allows to go LIVE in full HD using a dedicated bandwith up to 20 Mbit/s for up- and download, starting from 50 EuroCent a minute.
