miniCASTER® rocks Manhattan & Streaming Media East 2011

miniCASTER brings “Live is a battle” to N.Y. City

(PresseBox) (Unterföhring, )
Following the "Live Revolution Roadmap" miniCASTER®, the world's first hardware-based H.264 live streaming encoder is back in the USA. After having a very good time at the NAB in Las Vegas a few weeks ago, it is now time to hit the Streaming Media East 2011 (May 10-11) in New York, where the miniCASTER® prototype was introduced to streaming professionals and technology experts last year.

The digital (SDI-IN) and analog (Composite/S-Video Y/C-IN) models will be displayed at booth #306. Visitors can also take a look at the brand new "One-to-One" scenario that enables broadcasters to send an SDI signal directly to the news room via public Internet using two miniCASTERs. A digital model with HDMI-IN is coming soon. Just in time for the Streaming Media East 2011 miniCASTER® can talk to the leading CDNs like Akamai and Limelight or platforms like Livestream.com. Of course European customers are welcome to use the powerful CDN of TV1.EU. One-to-many streaming is now as easy as a phone call and cheaper than ever before.

The ultra-mobile miniCASTER® is the perfect companion for state of the art mobile broadcasting scenarios like newsgathering, emergency response, behind-the-scenes reports from major Sports events, conferences, exhibitions or simply any event you can imagine. While encoding and delivering several streams, miniCASTER® is able to record at the same time. Streaming settings can easily be changed via remote access and are also editable directly on the device itself.

Michael Westphal, CEO: "miniCASTER® is a truly mobile "One-to-many Live streaming Encoder" starting at $2.000, but now it can even be used in a "One-to-one" Broadcast Scenario using two miniCASTER®s for encoding and decoding connected via public Internet for only $6.999. Orders can be placed online (http://shop.minicaster.com) and we are very much looking forward to having the first devices delivered end of May."

The miniCASTER® connects to the internet via LAN, cellular or WIFI and converts the video signal from prosumer camcorder and / or a professional camera into a H.264 encoded livestream. This codec is favored by companies such as Apple, but also many TV stations and online platforms such as Youtube. So all PC / MAC-users who watch their videos in a flash player, but also users of mobile devices like iPhone and iPad, can be reached. The generated livestream is recorded directly by the miniCASTER® to a SD card. This is a backup copy that can be used as an on-demand content. With the miniCASTER@ live streaming is as easy as a phone call.
