Strategic expansion strengthens Lexit Group’s position in the Nordic and European markets
Lexit Group was founded in 1993 and is today established throughout the Nordic region as well as in Germany through the companies Lexit Group Norway, Lexit Group Denmark, Lexit Group Sweden, Idnet AB, Informa Oy and Circlon, along with the partly owned companies Foptec AB, StoriGo AB and StoreSprint AB. The group is one of the Nordic region’s leading players in digitalization and automation for production, warehousing/logistics and retail. Its customers include several of the most well-known companies in the Nordics and Germany, such as Orkla, Coop, Norgesgruppen/ASKO, Jula, Kesko, Volvo, Edeka and Deutsche Post.
Through the acquisition, approximately 50 new employees will join the group’s previous workforce of around 330 employees. Optidev will continue to have its headquarters in Borås, where the majority of the employees included in the acquisition are based.
“We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with Techstep. This part of the business fits naturally into our existing organisation and expansion strategy. We look forward to welcoming the Optidev team and its customers to Lexit Group,” says Sjur Skjæveland, Group CEO of Lexit Group.
Acquisition brings additional expertise and strengthens Lexit Group’s solution portfolio
“The team at Optidev has extensive experience in developing and implementing innovative solutions within several of our existing areas, with particular expertise in mobility for transport, ticketing, security and field service. We are excited to now be able to offer this to the market through the new subsidiary. In the longer term, the intention is to integrate Optidev with Idnet AB to further strengthen the overall offering,” says Petter Lagström, MD of Idnet AB.
Fredrik Logenius, who has a long history with Optidev and most recently with Techstep, will take on the role of MD of Optidev: “Becoming part of Lexit Group is a very exciting step for us. Lexit is a well-established player with strong relationships with both customers and suppliers, and we now look forward to beginning the integration and accelerating our development together.”
This is the fourth acquisition announced by Lexit Group since last summer. In June, the company announced the acquisition of parts of Luleå based StoriGo, followed by a shareholding in Stockholm based StoreSprint and the takeover of operations from Labeltec in Partille. In August, the group also took its first step toward a broader European presence through the acquisition of German company Circlon.
“We continue to actively seek acquisitions and partnerships with innovative players who can strengthen our portfolio and contribute to our continued establishment in the European market. By bringing in companies with whom we can jointly broaden market access and create long term value, we are building on the growth journey we have already begun outside the Nordic region,” concludes Skjæveland.
