Kipp Umwelttechnik received a customer order for the cleaning of cooling towers. Specifically, the outer tube surfaces of a cooling tower were heavily affected by very hard limestone that had completely settled around the tubes. The entire bundle of tubes has a height of 1200mm, with a base of about 8m². Previously unsuccessful cleaning attempts were carried out by the client. In addition, by a cleaning experiment previously carried out with chemicals, the galvanizing of the pipes had been severely damaged or completely removed.

Kipp Umwelttechnik relies on high-performance special equipment when cleaning heat exchangers

Kipp Umwelttechnik used the combination system JetMaster of the sister company mycon with a special nozzle for the initial cleaning of this cooling tower. For the production of compressed air, a high-pressure compressor with a capacity of 20 cbm-min / 14 bar was used to minimize pressure loss due to the long pipes, caused by the parking distant of compressor.

When using the system, even when removing hard limestone layers, the zinc layer is not damaged, which in this cooling tower, however, did not play a major role due to beforehand the severe damage caused by the chemicals usage.

The JetMaster system was able to remove the scale of the lime with customer satisfaction in just one working day. Kipp Umwelttechnik performed the cleaning completely alone. The cooling tower only had to be taken out of service by the client shortly before the work start.

Kipp Umwelttechnik offers a complete cleaning service with guaranteed success for heat exchangers / cooling towers of all types. The cleaning success is checked with the customer after the cleaning of a partial area and the cleaning is continued with the same standard if successful. If no sufficient success is visible, the client pays nothing.

In the occasion of hygiene problems, our chemical engineer will gladly advise you on any additional measures that may be necessary.
