This year, more than 10,000 owner-managed companies across all sectors in the economically strong state of Bavaria met the objective criteria for the “Bavaria’s Best 50” competition. The auditing and consulting firm Baker Tilly, serving as the jury, identified eligible companies based on nominations from district administrators, municipalities, chambers, and industry associations, as well as through database analyses. At the beginning of the year, these companies were invited to participate. Following a multi-month evaluation process, the jury selected the 50 top-performing businesses from this large pool of applicants, representing a wide range of industries including manufacturing, skilled trades, professional services, and other service providers.
“The Bavaria’s Best 50 award winners are an inspiration for the entire Bavarian economy. They stand for growth and for successfully overcoming economic challenges. With foresight, innovative strength, and tireless commitment, these companies secure the economic vitality and future viability of our state. They are role models of responsible entrepreneurship,” emphasized Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian Deputy Minister President and State Minister for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, in his address.
For ibidi, the award is a strong affirmation of its growth strategy, which has made the company a global market leader in cell microscopy. Its advanced tools are used by leading laboratories in science and industry for state-of-the-art analytics, diagnostics, and drug development. With ibidi’s powerful systems, researchers worldwide drive progress in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and the life sciences. Their precision enables unprecedented insights into the smallest building blocks of life—while keeping individual cells or even entire 3D cell clusters alive under the microscope for weeks of continuous observation. That is why ibidi products are even utilized in several space research missions.
All of ibidi’s research, development, production, and sales take place at the company’s headquarters in Graefelfing, near Munich, in Bavaria / Germany. This achievement is all the more remarkable given that many manufacturing industries in Europe are struggling with stagnation and declining business. At a time when globalization appears to be reversing, ibidi continues to successfully serve markets worldwide. “Especially in these years of global economic turbulence and margin pressures, we are particularly proud to be counted among ‘Bavaria’s Best 50’,” says Dr. Valentin Kahl, who, together with Dr. Roman Zantl, leads the company as Managing Director. “This award recognizes the dedication of the entire ibidi team and now stands alongside this year’s ‘Bavaria’s Top 20’ State Prize for Business Excellence and Family Friendliness.”
