HellermannTyton launches EVO7p: a next-generation pneumatic cable tie tool for industrial applications

Redesigned for comfort, precision and flexibility in high-volume wire harness production the EVO7p is light, comfortable, and features air inlets at the top and bottom.

HellermannTyton has introduced the EVO7p, a newly engineered pneumatic hand tool for industrial cable tie applications. Developed in Germany, the EVO7p combines ergonomic design with compressed air power to deliver fast, consistent and fatigue-free cable tie processing. It replaces the MK3PNSP2 and MK7P models, offering a lighter, more versatile solution for high-volume production environments.

The EVO7p features HellermannTyton’s patented tension-lock-cut mechanism, which ensures flush, repeatable cuts across a wide range of pre-settable tensile forces up to 180 N. Dual air inlets – positioned at the top and bottom – enhance setup flexibility, while the tool’s lightweight yet durable housing improves operator comfort and reduces strain during extended use.

"The EVO7p is a modern tool for production lines across industries, where reliability, consistency and efficiency are paramount," said Christian Schulze, Tool Systems Product Manager at HellermannTyton. “This redesign reflects our commitment to operator wellbeing, by marrying the fundamental ergonomic benefits of our EVO tools range with the power of compressed air.

Designed for heavy duty plastic cable ties from 2.5 mm to 4.8 mm in width, the EVO7p supports the most commonly used sizes in harness manufacturing and cable assembly. It operates with standard industrial compressed air (up to 6 bar / 87 psi) and includes a mounting option for suspension systems, making it a highly adaptable tool for production teams.

Key benefits at a glance:
  • Process reliability: Defined, repeatable tensile force ensures consistent installation quality.
  • Operator comfort: Ergonomic design and reduced manual effort minimise fatigue during long shifts.
  • Cost efficiency: Durable build and fewer failure-prone components reduce downtime and maintenance.
  • Integration flexibility: Dual compressed air inlets simplify setup and reduce tool variants.
