CETA Testsysteme GmbH presents innovative testing technologies at the iVT Expo 2026 in Cologne – Quality assurance through leak and flow tests during the production process

Risk minimization through leak testing of sensors and electronic control units

(PresseBox) (Hilden, Germany, )
CETA Testsysteme GmbH will present its solutions for industrial leak and flow testing at the iVT Expo 2026 in Cologne. The international trade fair will take place on June 10 and 11, 2026, at the Koelnmesse exhibition grounds and is considered a key meeting place for developers, OEMs, and suppliers from the off-highway and industrial vehicle sectors.

As an established manufacturer of “Made in Germany” testing equipment, CETA will present proven technologies for quality assurance in series production and their integration into modern production lines.

Testing technology for the highest quality standards in production – A comprehensive range of CETA test devices with a wide range of applications

Many automotive products must be leak-proof against moisture or liquid ingress. To ensure this, they are tested for leaks during the manufacturing process in cycle with the production line. This is a 100% routine test meaning every product is tested (100% end-of-line leak test).

Compressed air is widely used as a test medium. By using different methods for leak testing various types of products can be tested (e.g., directly fillable products, encapsulated products such as remote keys or sensors). In some cases, leak testing is also combined with pneumatic functional tests (preload, valve opening and closing points). The range of product volumes to be tested spans from 0.1 ml to 1,000 l.

Depending on the application, CETA leak testers with gauge pressure or differential pressure sensors are used. Available pressure ranges extend from -1 to 30 bar, up to 400 bar for the pressure rise method (e.g., testing of fuel injectors). The leak tightness of large-volume test parts can be tested using leak testers with a calorimetric mass flow sensor. Products whose flow is tested include, for example, membranes, filters, and cooling channels. With CETA flow testers, a range from 3 ml/min to 200 l/min can be covered using different laminar flow elements. Standard industrial interfaces are available for the testers. These are bidirectional and enable the transmission of process-relevant measurement results as well as the control and configuration of the testers.

Quality assurance for sensors and electronic control units in off-highway vehicles

Off-highway vehicles are specialized work and utility machines primarily used off-road in rough terrain. Current trends include increased safety, greater automation and remote control, as well as electrification to reduce emissions. A wide variety of sensors and electronic control units are used in these applications. These components and systems must function reliably under sometimes quite harsh conditions and varying environmental influences, and they must be leak-proof.

Sensors are often encapsulated products. They are tested for leaks in a test chamber that is pressurized. The test process consists of two phases. First, the product is checked for gross leaks. This is followed by a fine leak test.

Pressure compensation elements are often integrated into electronic control units. These elements are impermeable to water but permeable to air. This reduces the risk of mechanical damage to the sealing elements caused by cyclic temperature-induced pressure changes (heating during operation, cooling during periods of inactivity). During the leak test, the electronical control unit must then be filled to the test pressure via the pressure compensation element. In addition, this test often also checks the integrity of the pressure compensation elements and their correct mounting.

For the leak test of encapsulated products and electronic control units with pressure compensating elements, CETA offers proven solutions that are already widely used in industrial quality control.

Significant added value through accredited calibration and an extended warranty

All CETA test devices and calibration standards are supplied as standard upon initial delivery, at no extra charge, with an internationally recognized accredited calibration certificate in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. This also meets the requirements of the international standard IATF 16949, which is applicable in the automotive industry. CETA Testsysteme GmbH provides a standard 3-year warranty on test devices with annual maintenance, with an optional extension to 5 years.

The iVT Expo: A Platform for Innovation and Exchange

The iVT Expo in Cologne is a specialized trade fair for industrial vehicle technologies. The fair is aimed in particular at manufacturers and developers of off-highway vehicles, for example in the construction, agriculture, mining, and logistics sectors. Key areas of focus include drive technologies, sensor technology, control systems, testing and validation solutions, and concepts for autonomous and connected vehicles.

With its testing equipment, CETA helps ensure the quality and reliability of modern components - a crucial factor for the performance and longevity of industrial vehicles.

At the iVT Expo 2026, trade visitors will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the latest developments in leak and flow testing and to discuss specific application scenarios with CETA experts.

CETA Testsysteme GmbH

CETA Testsysteme GmbH - Solution partner for industrial leak and flow testing

CETA Testsysteme GmbH, based in Hilden near Düsseldorf, Germany, was founded in 1988 and has been active for more than 35 years as a manufacturer of physical measurement instruments used in leak tests and flow measurements. Compressed air is used as test medium. This testing procedure is characterised by the fact that it can be integrated in the production line with high process reliability.

The test equipment "Made in Germany" is developed in-house and along with the components and accessories (e.g. calibration standards) are manufactured by CETA. This takes into account the high demands on the quality of the internal modules used. A comprehensive range of test devices means that the right solution can be found for almost any testing application.

Semi-automatic test stands are also offered. The test devices are used by customers for quality assurance, quality control and production assurance. The customers are mainly from the automotive industry, e-mobility, medical technology, heating and air conditioning industry, energy sector, fittings and household appliances industry, packaging industry, security and defence industry.

The company is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and won the Quality Award of North Rhine Westphalia in the industry category in 2002. Since 2012, CETA has been consistently certified with a very good credit rating.

The calibration laboratory was accredited in 2004 by the German Calibration Service (DKD) and in 2014 by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) - as the successor to the DKD - as a DAkkS accredited calibration laboratory. The DAkkS-accredited calibration (compliant with the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard) meets the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard applicable in the automotive industry.

CETA Testsysteme GmbH is the first German manufacturer of leak testers to deliver its test equipment with DKD- or DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate as standard since 2004. From mid-2024, flow testers as well as pressure manometers and calibration standards will also be supplied with a DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate as standard and at no extra cost on initial delivery.

The comprehensive range of services includes consulting, feasibility studies, commissioning, training, maintenance and calibration.

With cooperation partners in China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Hungary and with thousands of test devices in use all over the world, CETA Testsysteme GmbH presents itself as a competent solution partner for industrial leak and flow testing.
