On 01 September 2025, Mathias Wolpiansky will be appointed to serve as Managing Director alongside Ralf Bokämper. Ralf Bokämper will be leaving the company on 31/12/2025 to retire after over 15 years. Mathias Wolpiansky will then continue in the role of sole Managing Director. With this change, the company is charting the course for a new generation of leadership.
Mathias Wolpiansky has a degree in industrial engineering, as well as many years of experience at international industrial companies. After receiving the degree of Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. at the University of Bingen, he studied Strategic Business Management abroad at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He then completed his MBA at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management with a focus on Business Administration and Management.
His career has included leadership positions in product management, sales, and international business development. In these roles, he successfully implemented growth strategies, initiated innovation projects, and managed international teams. With this combination of technical expertise and business experience, Wolpiansky is well equipped to further develop BOPLA at the Bünde site, expand individualised customer solutions, and further the internationalisation of the company.
“I’m very much looking forward to my new position at BOPLA” says Mathias Wolpiansky. “My goal is to solidify the company's role as a leading provider of electronics enclosures, develop innovative products, and expand our international presence. Integrating the outstanding expertise and commitment of our employees at the Bünde site, and creating new growth prospects together, are particularly important to me”.
BOPLA itself is a leader in the enclosure industry with over 50 years of experience. At the headquarters in Bünde, the company develops and manufactures high-quality electronics enclosures made of plastic and aluminium, as well as input units based on touchscreens and membrane keypads. BOPLA’s product portfolio ranges from standard enclosures to custom solutions “from idea to series production”, as well as HMI systems and system integration – all from a single source. With over 240 employees in Bünde and around 400 more worldwide, BOPLA has been part of Phoenix Mecano AG, an international Swiss group, since 1977. Its products are used in many different industries, from measurement and control technology to mechanical and plant engineering, to medical and railway technology.
BOPLA has grown rapidly in recent years and systematically expanded its capacity: in addition to the head office in Bünde, another location has been opened in Kirchlengern which is around 2,000 m² in size. Custom designed enclosures (CDE) are created there, while system integration continues to be expanded in Bünde.
The company would like to expressly thank Ralf Bokämper for his many years of successful management, his expansion of the service portfolio, and his eternal spirit of innovation.
Ralf Bokämper and the entire BOPLA-Team wish Mathias Wolpiansky much success in his new role and look forward to the ongoing successful management of the company under his leadership.
