Up to 10 years lifetime: Line-Interactive Sine Wave UPS for temperatures up to +60°C

Uninterruptible AC power supply with Longlife Cyclone cells

(PresseBox) (Donauwörth, )
Bicker Elektronik, Donauwörth, Germany, introduces the new UPS-1000-B1, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with line-interactive design and longlife energy storage. The powerful 1000VA UPS reliably protects 230VAC applications from power outages and input voltage fluctuations. Unlike conventional off-line UPS systems, the UPS-1000-B1 provides a sine-wave voltage output, reliably powering sensitive IT loads such as industrial PCs, workstations, servers, network components, and security and measurement equipment. The AVR function with buck/boost mode ensures automatic voltage regulation at the output of the UPS when the input voltage falls below or exceeds the rated voltage.

Pure lead-tin battery cells - extremely robust and durable
The UPS-1000-B1 uses extra long-life Hawker Cyclon battery cells. They are the ideal choice for applications with higher ambient temperatures up to +60°C, while at the same time meeting high service life requirements. Especially in demanding operating conditions, the UPS-1000-B1 offers enormous advantages over conventional standard office UPS systems in terms of freedom from maintenance and service intervals. In contrast to conventional lead-acid batteries, the extremely robust Hawker Cyclon cells use wound, thin electrode grids made of pure lead (99.004%) with a tin alloy (0.65%). The optimized electrochemical processes in the valve-controlled Cyclon cells (VRLA) enable high temperature resistance and a particularly long service life of up to 10 years.

Intelligent UPS control and charging electronics
The microprocessor-based UPS-1000-B1 offers numerous control and monitoring functions. The large display on the front of the UPS shows all important status and diagnostic information and allows UPS parameters to be set intuitively. These include operating modes, input and output voltage, AVR buck/boost, temperature, battery state of charge and autonomy time, as well as timer and alarm settings. For data communication with the included UPS software "UPSilon 2000", the UPS-1000-B1 has a USB and a RS232 interface. Suitable USB and D-SUB9 cables, as well as AC input/output cables are already included in the delivery.

Reboot function & load sensor
In case of mains failure, the UPS switches to battery operation and after the set bridging time has elapsed, the operating system of the supplied computer is safely shut down and the UPS is switched off. Should the input voltage return during the shutdown, the integrated reboot function ensures that the system is automatically restarted. This function is particularly important for applications that need to restart safely without user intervention after a power failure, such as stand-alone systems or systems that are difficult to access. To conserve battery power and protect against unintentional discharge, the load sensor checks whether a load (computer) is connected to the output and automatically switches off the UPS-1000-B1 if there is no load or the mains input voltage is applied regularly.
