Mit den Serien 841 / 8410 als serielle Schnittstellen für Computer- und Videogeräte zur Übertragung digitaler Daten erweitert W+P PRODUCTS das bestehende Multimedia-Steckverbinderprogramm.

Die High-Speed-Steckverbinder Fire Wire / IEEE 1394 erlauben die direkte Kommunikation peripherer Geräte untereinander ohne einen definierten zentralen Host.

Sie sind charakterisiert durch Datenübertragungsraten von 400 Mbit/s, eine maximale Leitungslänge von 70 m und den Einsatz bei laufendem Betrieb, d.h. "Hot Plug"- und "Hot Unplug"-Fähigkeit. W+P PRODUCTS liefert 4- und 6- polige Steckverbinder als Einlöt- und SMT-Variante mit einer Nennspan-nung von 50 VACDC, einem Durchgangswiderstand vom max. 30 mOhm und einem Isolationswiderstand von min. 500
