Damit der Rechnungsbetrag genau ermittelt werden kann, empfiehlt die Verbraucherzentrale Ablesung des Zählers am 31.8.2008 am besten im Beisein eines Zeugen und Mitteilung des Zählerstandes an die Gasag. Wer dies unterlässt erhält eine Jahresendabrechnung mit geschätzten Verbrauchskosten zum Stichtag, zahlt also unter Umständen mehr als es dem tatsächlichen Verbrauch entspricht.
