Mit dem SAMDIP-7X lassen sich Datenpakete auf sichere Weise übertragen. Das von taskit entwickelte Microcontroller-Modul unterstützt die beiden Verschlüsselungssysteme TDES und AES. Beide Systeme sind im Microcontroller hardwareseitig integriert. Der AT91SAM7XC unterstützt Ethernet, USB 2.0 device, TWI (I²C-kompatibel), SPI, SSC, 32 programmierbare I/O-Ports sowie 3 flexible USARTs (mit RS485, IrDA sowie Manchester Encoding). Das breite Angebot an zur Verfügung stehenden Schnittstellen prädestiniert den SAMDIP-7X (64pin Standardbauteil) für ein Reihe von Anwendungen. Mittels Ethernet lässt sich das Modul beispielsweise als dezentrales Fernwartungssystem einsetzen. Die über das Internet ankommenden und versendeten Daten können dann mit den beiden Kryptosystemen ver- bzw. entschlüsselt werden.
