VERITAS Software (Nasdaq: VRTS), der führende Hersteller von Storage Software, präsentiert mit VERITAS StorageCentral 5.2 eine Lösung, mit der Anwender in Windows-Umgebungen ihre Speicher-Ressourcen bereinigen und das unkontrollierte Wachstum des Datenvolumens in den Griff bekommen können. Die Storage Resource Management Software begrenzt die Belegung von Speicherplatz pro User auf ein definiertes Maß und blockiert die Speicherung bestimmter Dateitypen. Unternehmen können dadurch zum Beispiel den Download von MP3 Files oder auch von Dateitypen verhindern, die häufig zur Übertragung von Computerviren genutzt werden. In Version 5.2 unterstützt VERITAS StorageCentral jetzt auch Microsoft Windows Server 2003 und Windows Storage Server 2003.
