Sun Microsystems kündigt die Sun Java Communications Suite 7 an, eine Messaging- und Kollaborationsplattform, die auf die Bedürfnisse von großen Telekommunikationsunternehmen, Internet Service Providern und Konzernen ausgelegt ist. Über 170 Millionen Anwender nutzen bereits die Vorgängerversionen der Java Communications Suite für E-Mail, Instant Messaging (IM), Kalenderbearbeitung und weitere Webservices. Neu an Version 7 ist die Unterstützung des CalDAV-Standards, was den Datenaustausch mit anderen Kalenderbearbeitungs-Clients wie Mac iCal und Mozilla Lightning ermöglicht.
