Die NEC T40A Tape Library, mit ihren 40 Cartridge-Slots und 16TB* stellt eine Verdreifachung der Kapazität gegenüber dem Vorgängermodell dar. Die LTO-Cartridges werden in 4 Magazinen untergebracht (2x 12 Cartridges und 2x 8 Cartridges). Diese Magazine können einzeln entnommen werden, was die Entnahme und das Handling vereinfacht.
