Die skandinavische Fluggesellschaft Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) bietet Fluggästen ab 2012 erneut als eine der ersten Fluggesellschaften Internetzugang und die Möglichkeit, GSM Telefone an Bord zu nutzen. Mitte Dezember wird die erste Boeing B737-800 mit der entsprechenden Technik für SASWIFI bestückt, bis Juli 2012 folgen weitere neun Flugzeuge. Der Service wird zunächst auf der Kurzstrecke innerhalb Norwegens sowie von und nach Oslo, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Paris und weiteren europäischen Städten angeboten.
