"Die Nachricht, dass eine Samsung-OEM-installierte-Software absichtlich und unwiderruflich Windows Update (WU) deaktiviert, ist sehr beunruhigend. Die Untersuchung von Sicherheitsexperte Patrick Barker zeigt auf, dass dies nicht "bösartig" ist, sondern Teil eines Maßnahmenpakets, um die Installation möglicherweise inkompatibler USB-Treiber auf Samsung-Geräten zu verhindern. Das Problem jedoch ist, dass dies ein plumper Ansatz ist, der zukünftige Sicherheitsupdates auf Windows komplett unterbindet. Damit wird auch ein Prozess gestoppt, der es ermöglicht hat, dass das von Microsoft und den Computerherstellern heute gebotene Sicherheitsniveau in vielen Jahren gereift ist. Ein großer Hardwarehersteller wie Samsung sollte hier etwas überlegter vorgehen.
