Constellium to optimize its entire rolling operations
Constellium signs corporate deal with Quintiq
Constellium will utilize Quintiq's end-to-end supply chain planning solution to support its scheduling, strategic, and tactical planning at its operation plants in Ravenswood, Issoire, Sierre, and Singen. The implementation of Quintiq's software solution consists of one upgrade of an existing operation and nine new implementations, which will be carried out from 2012 to 2014.
Constellium and Quintiq's long-term business relationship began in 2003 and 2004 when Quintiq closed two limited corporate agreements with Constellium, which was then known as Alcan Engineered Products. These first two implementations yielded significant business benefits for Constellium including improved delivery performance, increased productivity, and inventory reduction in multiple production locations.
Carlos Cruz, Constellium's Manager of Strategic Purchasing - IT, commented: "We selected Quintiq for their state-of-the-art software technology and in-depth understanding of our business processes. We have already recorded great business results thanks to the implementation of Quintiq's APS solution in Constellium rolling mills over the years. Quintiq is clearly a reliable partner in supply chain planning and production optimization solutions."
Francois Eijgelshoven, Quintiq's Metals & Manufacturing Business Unit Director, said: "Over the years, Quintiq helped to significantly increase Constellium's business value, which led to Quintiq becoming the ideal strategic partner for Constellium. The ever-increasing confidence in Quintiq's software capabilities has contributed to this new corporate deal, which will optimize Constellium's entire rolling operations in the future."
