Sagem Orga, one of the world's leading smart card companies, is opening a subsidiary in Mexico. The new subsidiary and its production site in Mexico will focus particularly on the telecommunications and banking markets.

Sagem Orga has had a strong presence in Latin America since establishing its subsidiary Sagem Orga do Brasil in 1999. "Our new subsidiary in Mexico has brought us even closer to our customers and can give them individual service," commented Philippe d'Andréa, CEO of Sagem Orga. Mexico and Brazil alone account for 60 percent of the overall 500 million inhabitants of Latin America.
