The Countdown to the Content Conference Hamburg has begun!
New conference format for "convergent content ecosystem" / International experts to discuss trends and developments
(PresseBox) (Hamburg, )Invited are decision makers and professionals from the mobile media space, the content industry as well as licensors, publishers and developers, network operators and hardware manufacturers – essentially everyone who is part of the convergent content ecosystem.
This year’s conference will take place on the 20th of September 2012 on the 23rd floor of the refurbished EMPORIO building, one of the highest event locations in Hamburg. An extraordinary space right in the center of Hamburg which is well connected by transport lines, has high quality equipment and a spectacular panoramic view of the city of Hamburg.
Main topics of discussion:
Music Streaming
Finally, all the issues are laid out on one table: GEMA, streaming providers (Simfy/Wimp) and content owners (Finetunes/VUT) will discuss the following key questions – Are independent music artists really benefiting from long tail streaming services? How do music artists benefit at all? What strategies do streaming providers have to attract people from music ownership to access?
Content Convergence
Which device will outperform all others in the battle for consumer consumption? Here we showcase a US company that plans to revolutionize content consumption on multiple devices. Leading operator, hardware manufacturer and content owner stakeholders will examine the where, when and why of consumption.
New Revenues Streams
Where can they be generated? What are the business models of the future? After an overview of all possible ways to earn money using digital media, our expert panel (including amongst others, ‘Apprupt’) examine the hot questions at this stage: Is adfunded the way to success? Are freemium models surpassing premium download revenues? Is there still a willingness to pay for content?
Browser vs. Native Games
A much discussed topic but still more relevant than ever. Our experts from mobile browser-games (Softgames and AirG) and native game companies (Rovio and Fishlabs) argue why they think their way will succeed. What are the advantages of browser based content? Why should users still go native? Can native survive the next 5 years?
The Content Conference Hamburg is the new transformation of the former “Apps-Day” that ran from 2006 to 2011, and establishes a major new date on Hamburg’s digital business event calendar. One advantageous addition is the sundowner event which serves as a networking platform for all participants. Mingle with fellow guests, enjoy excellent drinks and take in the fantastic view of Hamburg’s inner city.
“This year, together with our partners, we really take our content conference to the next level. We will cover all the hot topics with leading experts from the industry and in addition will have great showcases of innovative content solutions from US startups who will be in town for the event. All this combined with the best networking opportunities whilst enjoying a fantastic view over Hamburg will make the Content Conference an event no one from our industry should miss out on“, says Michael Krause, Vice President Sales & Marketing.
Tobias Arns, Head of Social Media and Mobile, BITKOM: „We support the Content Conference Hamburg because we feel that really exciting topics of the digital and mobile world will be discussed there by first rate experts. As the association of the high-tech industry it is essential for us to characterise the massive changes in the media, music and games industry and to identify and promote the relevant business and technology trends early.“
