Plenty of goals and saves by the home team combined with the generosity of over 1,500 handball fans: At yesterday’s Bundesliga match of TUSSIES Metzingen, a total of 13,000 euros was raised for the “Help for Sick Children” Foundation of the University Hospital Tübingen.
The match between TuS Metzingen and VfL Oldenburg at the Paul Horn Arena in Tübingen was all about “Top-Class Handball for a Good Cause.” The TUSSIES sponsors had launched a special initiative: For every goal and every save by the home team, 315 euros were donated to the “Help for Sick Children” Foundation of the University Hospital Tübingen.
Accordingly, every one of the 30 goals and 10 saves by the Metzingen goalie was celebrated enthusiastically – resulting in an impressive 12,600 euros for a good cause.
Thanks to the fans’ generosity at the Paul Horn Arena, this amount was increased by an additional 400 euros. The “Help for Sick Children” team was on site with an information booth and interactive activities for all ages, while the TUSSIES placed numerous donation boxes throughout the venue.

Today, he steps onto the handball court full of energy and enthusiasm – a powerful example of how medical care and human support can truly change lives.
