Die Manz AG plant, die CIGS-Produktionslinie am Standort Schwäbisch Hall von der Würth Solar GmbH & Co. KG zu übernehmen. Zuvor soll diese in eine Innovationslinie für die Weiterentwicklung der CIGS Produktions- und Prozesstechnologie umgerüstet werden. Im Rahmen des Erwerbs der vollständigen CIGS-Technologie sollen insgesamt 116 Würth Solar-Mitarbeiter in den Manz-Konzern integriert werden. Primär soll die neue Innovationsfabrik der Forschung und Entwicklung dienen, wobei die Beschleunigung der technologischen Weiterentwicklung und damit verbunden die Reduzierung der Produktionskosten sowie die Steigerung der Modulwirkungsgrade im Vordergrund stehen.

Neben der Produktionsstätte erwirbt Manz auch die Lizenzen und das Know-how von Würth Solar, auch aus
