Linear Technology Corporation präsentiert den LTC3822, einen Synchron-DC/DC-Abwärtswandler-Controller für 2,75V bis 4,5V Eingangsspannung, der zur Ansteuerung von N-Kanal-MOSFETs keine externe Gate-Steuerspannung benötigt. Der LTC3822 verwendet zur Strommessung den RDS(ON) des MOSFETs; das macht einen externen Strommesswiderstand entbehrlich, verbessert den Wirkungsgrad und verringert die Gesamtkosten der Lösung. Obwohl der LTC3822 zur Ansteuerung von N-Kanal-MOSFETs vorgesehen ist, kann er zur Minimierung der Dropout-Spannung bis zu einem Tastverhältnis von 99% betrieben werden. Die im Bereich von 300kHz bis 750kHz einstellbare Schaltfrequenz ermöglicht es Entwicklern, Interferenzen mit anderen Systemkomponenten zu minimieren und den Wirkungsgrad zu optimieren.
