Linear Technology Corporation präsentiert den LTC3543, einen wirkungsgradstarken 2,25-MHz-Synchron-Abwärtsregler in einem nur 2mm x 3mm großen DFN-Gehäuse, der einen kontinuierlichen Ausgangsstrom bis zu 600mA liefern kann. Der LTC3543 bietet die Wahl zwischen drei Betriebsarten: feste Schaltfrequenz 2,25MHz, Spread-Spectrum-Modus oder PLL- (Phase Lock Loop) synchronisierter Modus; dadurch lässt sich das Schaltrauschen entsprechend den Anforderungen der jeweiligen Anwendung minimieren. Der auf einer Current-Mode-Architektur basierende Chip erlaubt Eingangsspannungen zwischen 2,5V und 5,5V; er eignet sich dadurch ideal für Einzelzellen-Li-Ion- oder Mehrzellen-Alkaline/NiCad/NiMH-Anwendungen. Der Chip kann Ausgangsspannungen bis hinab zu 0,6V liefern und ist dadurch eine ideale Lösung zum Erzeugen der Betriebsspannung für digitale Signalprozessoren
