Cable specialist TKD has extended its supply performance through the Central Warehouse expansion
The Central Warehouse expansion in Nettetal is complete
(PresseBox) (Pliezhausen, )With a budget of 3 Million Euros the storage and dispatch areas have been expanded by approx. 3000 m² and the fully automated high-rack warehouse now has a capacity for almost 12,000 euro-palettes.
Consequently, TKD has enhanced its performance to its customers with the opening of the newly created storage capacity. The capacity of the existing high-rack warehouse has doubled; the rail systems have been expanded and changes to update technology have also been carried out. Through these measures it is possible to increase the picking of the products by around 30%.
In the area of incoming and outgoing goods more space has been created. In addition, a new incoming goods building has been erected and the number of loading ramps for the lorries have been increased.
Two roller shutters were installed at ground level to allow for express service and self-collection.
TKD has now gained 25% more capacity in handling orders and its customers are able to benefit from increased product availability and shorter delivery times for the catalogue based cables and cable accessories.
TKD Project Leader Michael Nisters and Warehouse Manager Dieter Jansen are able to look back on a successful project: "We were always on target with this project and most importantly our customers' orders were delivered without encountering any problems during this period. From now on our customers will benefit from the newly created warehouse capacity."
