Debate on sector situation at Genera 2014

(PresseBox) (Madrid, ) GENERA, the Energy and Environment International Trade Fair, has announced the seventh edition of the Innovation Gallery which focuses on and recognises research, development and innovation in the renewables and energy efficiency sector.

A jury, formed by recognised professionals from the sector, will select the most groundbreaking proposals once the deadline for submissions has passed (6 February). Once again GENERA will recognise the work carried out by public and private organisations which aim to promote a responsible and effective use of the energy available.

GENERA 2014 will also be the venue for an attractive technical workshop programme as a complement to the commercial offering of the fair which will be held 6-8 May at Feria de Madrid. These workshops, which will be given by experts and leading industry players, are presented as a single platform to analyse and discuss the current state of the energy industry, environmental management, the boom of renewable energies and industry efficiency.

This year's edition will include workshops on energy management and the recovery of mud at WWTPs and waste-to-energy, organised by ATEGRUS; the role of CHP/renewables in balancing markets, offered by REE; new cogeneration legislation organised by COGEN and ACOGEN; energy services -ANESE-; fuels and alternative energy in the transport sector, organised by AeH2; the strategic energy rehabilitation plan for existing buildings - AMI; Ministry of Development, CNC and UNESA-; managing municipal lighting -AMI and IDAE-; transposing energy efficiency legislation - ADHAC, AMI and A3e-; PV energy as a development vector, and the PV Industry perspective from an international market leader, both organised by UNEF; the impact and outlook for the solar thermal sector in the new technical building code, offered by ASIT; analysing Royal Decree 235/2013 on energy certification of buildings, organised by A3e and GBC-Green Building Council; renewable energies in ultra-low energy buildings - by ATECYR-; proposed EU legislation on rolling out alternative fuels infrastructure, organised by AeH2 and PTE HPC; innovation as key to competition in the wind industry, by AEE; the role of solar thermal energy in the renewable energy mix - CIEMAT and PROTERMOSOLAR-; workshops on biomass, geothermal, marine power, wind and miniwind energy organized by APPA; the OECC workshop, and other matters concerning biomass networks -ADHAC-.

In addition to the Technical Workshops and commercial offering, GENERA 2014 will host the Genera Forum, comprising a programme of product presentations, solutions and services. With a streamlined and didactic format, these conferences and talks will provide professionals with the detailed characteristics of some of the latest sector developments.

GENERA 2014 will also host a workshop on transferring technology in energy and the environment, promoted by the Directorate General for Universities and Research, through the Madri+d Foundation. This event, now in its 8th year, aims to promote communication, cooperation and opportunities among companies, universities, technology centres and RDI centres, via a series of scheduled meetings and bilateral interviews.

Organised by IFEMA, in collaboration with Spain's Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), GENERA looks set to attract more visitors this year as it will be held at the same time as the International Construction Week which will also offer CONSTRUTEC, the International Construction Week; PIEDRA, the International Natural Stone Fair, and VETECO, the International Trade Fair for Windows, Curtain Windows and Structural Glass. GENERA offers new business and contact opportunities.
