Neue HPI-Professur für „Digital Technology, Governance and Policy“

Das Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) wächst weiter: Dr. Gillian Bolsover wechselt zum HPI und übernimmt ab 1. Oktober die Professur für „Digital Technology, Governance and Policy“ an der gemeinsamen Digital Engineering Fakultät der Universität Potsdam und des Hasso-Plattner-Instituts. Dabei geht es um ein gesellschaftlich hoch relevantes Forschungsfeld. Der wissenschaftliche Fokus der Professur liegt auf der Analyse computergesteuerter Propaganda und der Wirkung von Bots, Algorithmen, Desinformation und anderer Formen von automatisierter politischer Meinungsmanipulation auf Politik und Gesellschaft. Die Professur wird für fünf Jahre von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) finanziert.
