Die Handwerkskammer Koblenz ruft ihre Mitgliedsbetriebe zur Teilnahme am Wettbewerb "Unternehmerfrau im Handwerk 2009" auf. Bewerben können sich sowohl Frauen, die selbst Handwerksmeisterin oder Leiterin eines Handwerksunternehmens sind, als auch mitarbeitende Ehefrauen in Teilzeit- oder Vollzeitanstellung. Schirmherrin des Wettbewerbs ist Bundesfrauenministerin Dr. Ursula von der Leyen. Unterstützt wird der Wettbewerb vom Bundesverband der Unternehmerfrauen im Handwerk(UFH).

Mit dem Preis sollen die Leistungen aller Frauen im Handwerk gewürdigt und einer breiten Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt werden. "Ohne den Einsatz der Unternehmerfrau könnte so mancher Handwerksbetrieb nur halb so erfolgreich am Markt agieren. Sie wird ihren Verpflichtungen in Betrieb und Familie gerecht. Durch ihr
