Grüner Strom Label zertifiziert 2012 erstmals mehr als eine Terrawattstunde Ökostrom / Ökostromkunden lösen Millioneninvestitionen in Energieprojekte im In- und Ausland aus

Im Jahr 2012 wurde erstmals über eine Terrawattstunde Ökostrom mit Grüner Strom Label (GSL) an Endverbraucher geliefert. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr stieg die zertifizierte Strommenge um weitere zehn Prozent auf 1.015 Gigawattstunden. Der anhaltend positive Trend lässt ein jährliches Investitionsvolumen von über acht Millionen Euro erwarten, da bei GSL-zertifizierten Produkten stets ein fester Betrag je Kilowattstunde in die Energiewende fließt. Innovative Maßnahmen wie ein Smart Grid-Projekt der Mainova, die bisher größte Solaranlage der Stadtwerke Heidelberg und ein Projekt zur Förderung von Kleinbiogasanlagen in Kenia konnten mit diesen Geldern zuletzt realisiert werden.
