Norddeutsches Zentrum für Mikrobielle Genomforschung geht an den Start

Kooperation von sechs Wissenschaftseinrichtungen / Feierliche Eröffnung am 11. Januar 2013

Die mikrobielle Genomforschung gehört weltweit zu den wichtigsten Gebieten der Lebenswissenschaften. Sie beeinflusst schon heute ganz unterschiedliche Bereiche in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft, von der Gesundheit des Menschen über Fragen des Klimawandels bis hin zu den verschiedenen Facetten der Biotechnologie einschließlich der synthetischen Biologie. Sechs norddeutsche Wissenschaftseinrichtungen, die in diesem Bereich seit vielen Jahren auch international eine führende Rolle spielen, wollen ihre Kompetenzen nun in einem gemeinsamen Forschungszentrum bündeln. Das Norddeutsche Zentrum für Mikrobielle Genomforschung (NZMG) wird am Freitag, 11. Januar 2013, an der Universität Göttingen feierlich eröffnet. Der Festakt beginnt um 14 Uhr in der Aula am Wilhelmsplatz.
