Im Mittelpunkt der 7. Göttinger Freilandtage stehen in diesem Jahr langfristig angelegte Verhaltens- und Populationsstudien freilebender Primaten. Bei der Tagung stellen 20 Wissenschaftler die Geschichte und Infrastruktur ihrer Feldstationen in Afrika, Madagaskar, Asien und Südamerika sowie die Höhepunkte ihrer Forschung vor. Die weltweit führenden Experten beleuchten dabei das Thema aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln. Die Göttinger Freilandtage werden von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft und dem Deutschen Primatenzentrum (DPZ) finanziert. Sie finden vom 8. bis 11. Dezember 2009 im Max-Planck-Institut für biophysikalische Chemie, Am Fassberg, statt. Zur Eröffnung spricht PhD Alison Jolly von der englischen University of Sussex über "Berenty - Why does a
