Eine EAN-Verwaltung muss unterschiedliche Einheiten von Artikeln und unterschiedliche Kennzeichnungen für Länder, Regionen, Lieferanten und Kunden unter einer Artikelnummer verwalten können. Nur so ist sichergestellt, dass insbesondere Unternehmen aus der Lebensmittelindustrie die unterschiedlichen Anforderungen des Handels erfüllen können. In Verbindung mit dem patentierten Einheitenkonzept wird so sichergestellt, dass ein Artikel nur einmal im System angelegt wird und alle dem Artikel zugehörigen Einheiten individuell mit einem EAN-Code verknüpft werden können.

Integrierte Plausibilitätsprüfungen erleichtern die Pflege von EAN-Codes, zeigen fehlende auf und sichern so den Prozessfluss in den Anwenderunternehmen. Die Integration von Scannern im Erfassungsmodul erhöht zusätzlich die Sicherheit bei der Datenpflege.
