Musik, Fotos und kostenlose Programme werden weiterhin im großen Stil auf Arbeitsrechner geladen - so eine aktuelle Umfrage von Centennial Software, einem Spezialisten für IT-Asset-Management und Endpoint-Sicherheit. Demzufolge speichern 46 Prozent der Befragten Musik und Fotos mindestens manchmal aus dem Internet oder von externen Speichermedien wie USB-Sticks auf den Arbeitsrechner. Insgesamt 50 Prozent gingen manchmal oder sogar häufig ins Internet oder nutzen externe Festplatten, um kostenlose Programme, Updates und Patches auf den Computer zu laden. Diese so genannten Greynet-Applikationen stellen IT-Abteilungen oft vor Probleme, da sie einmal im Netzwerk installiert kaum mehr aufzuspüren sind.
