ROTI®Phenol/Chloroform/Isoamylalkohol ist ein häufig in der Molekularbiologie verwendetes Gemisch zur Isolation von Nukleinsäuren. Die hocheffiziente Extraktion mit Phenol liefert hochreine DNA und RNA, ohne eine der beiden Molekülsorten abzureichern oder auf Stranglängen zu selektieren. Die Isolierung der Nukleinsäuren ist damit quantitativ und qualitativ sehr effizient und häufig noch der Königsweg vor downstream-Prozessen, bei denen sehr sauberere Proben erforderlich sind.

ROTI®Phenol/Chloroform/Isoamylalkohol enthält Phenol, Chloroform und Isoamylalkohol im optimierten Mischungsverhältnis 25:24:1. Zur Vermeidung von Oxidation und besseren Haltbarkeit ist das Gemisch mit Puffer überschichtet. Chloroform und Phenol bewirken eine Denaturierung der in der Probe enthaltenen Proteine. Durch den enthaltenen Isoamylalkohol kann die
