Canon stellt in Kürze kostenlose Firmware Upgrades zum einfachen und praktischen Druck von Mobilgeräten für seine ersten Mopria (Mobile Printing Alliance) zertifizierten Produkte zur Verfügung. Ab Mai 2014 sind für folgende sieben Laser-Multifunktionssysteme für das Home Office und kleinere bis mittlere Arbeitsgruppen die Firmware Upgrades erhältlich: i-SENSYS MF8580Cdw, MF8550Cdn, MF8540Cdn, MF8280Cw, MF8230Cn (Markteinführung Mai 2013) sowie MF6180dw, MF6140dn (Markteinführung März 2014). Das Firmware Upgrade für das Canon Multifunktionssystem PIXMA MG7150 (Markteinführung September 2013) steht Ende Juni bereit.

Nach dem Upgrade erkennen kompatible Canon Produkte automatisch eine WLAN-Verbindung auf Mopria zertifizierten Smartphones, Tablets und anderen Mobilgeräten. Durch einfache Auswahl des auf
