Rund 100 Teilnehmer kamen zur zweitägigen 15. internationalen CAN Conference (iCC) nach Wien. Die 22 Vorträge waren nach Aussagen des Veranstalters CAN in Automation (CiA) von hoher Qualität. Die meisten Vorträge beschäftigten sich mit CAN FD, dem verbesserten CAN-Protokoll, welches auf der 13. iCC im Hambacher Schloß (Deutschland) vorgestellt worden war. Andere Themen der Konferenz waren CAN und das Internet-der-Dinge sowie Security in CAN-Netzwerken. Bosch präsentierte eine CAN-Protokollerweiterung für sichere Kommunikation.

Daimler berichtete über Forschungsergebnisse bezüglich CAN-FD-Systemdesign. Die Flugzeugindustrie gab in einer Ad-hoc-Präsentation bekannt, in Zukunft CAN FD zu unterstützen.
